About Asta Productions

Asta Productions has been serving the New River Valley area of southwestern Virginia for 18 years. Asta Productions was born out of the need to provide professional videography for videotaping dance recitals and family reunions. Having had many requests from local business or families to video tape their events, Doctor Video immediately went digital. In 1998 Doctor Video began video taping plays, recitals, reunions, pageants weddings and more. Wanting to differentiate electronic repairs (Doctor Video) from videography, in 2003 we took the name: Asta Productions.

Having graduated from Virginia Tech, the senior videographer used her skills to not only shoot the video the way it needed to be done professionally but use her talents in editing. Having taken courses in computer editing, it was much easier to edit non-liner than doing liner editing, which is how VHS and Super-VHS editing was originally done. Our senior videographer, Christina Webb, graduated in Communications: TV & Radio Productions from Virginia Tech. She has the educational background needed to produce a quality video. She takes pride in her work and wants to produce a wedding video (or any type of video) that you would want to watch again and again.

We believe that the video is only half of the work needed for a truly professional video. The audio is the second half. It’s important to microphone everything, whether it’s the musicians, minister, stage for taps at a dance recital, the podium for a speaker or taking the sound directly off of the events sound system, we have much experience with audio. Then back at our studio we do audio re-mixing for a truly memorable sound experience on your DVD.

We have traveled to many locations to video tape weddings and events, including: Durham and Charlotte NC, Bluefield and Princeton WV, Lexington, Northern Virginia, Richmond, Lynchburg, Roanoke, Wytheville, Kings Port, Tennessee and through-out the New River Valley area.
